Canada’s Premiers to Meet in Ottawa on January 30, 2015

Canada’s Premiers will meet in Ottawa on Friday, January 30. The meeting will take place at the Delta Ottawa City Centre.
Premiers’ discussions will focus on the economy. Premiers will also discuss health care and aging, labour mobility and fiscal arrangements. In addition, they will receive a presentation on the economy from Kevin Lynch, Vice Chair of BMO Financial Group.
A closing news conference is planned for 3:00 pm on January 30.
“I am pleased to chair the winter meeting of Canada’s Premiers where we will discuss issues that are important to enhancing the lives of Canadians,” said Prince Edward Island Premier Robert Ghiz, Chair of the Council of the Federation. “I look forward to leading discussions on jobs and the economy, and other issues of importance to Canadians.”
The Council of the Federation comprises all 13 provincial and territorial Premiers. It enables Premiers to work collaboratively, form closer ties, foster constructive relationships between governments, and show leadership on important issues that matter to Canadians.
